Jeanet Carolyn Higgins

Funeral services for Jeanet Higgins, 53 of Giddings, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Keith Aschenbeck and Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Jeanet Carolyn Hoffman Higgins was born on March 23, 1958 in Tooele, Utah to Franklin D. & Lorene (Albrecht) Hoffman. She was baptized on May 18, 1958 and was confirmed on March 26, 1972. Her confirmation verse was Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Jeanet enjoyed tending her roses, housekeeping, cooking and playing scrabble with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter and her brother, Marvin Ray Hoffman.

Jeanet is survived by her parents, Franklin & Lorene Hoffman of Giddings; brother and sister-in-law, Dwight & Jane Hoffman of Northrup; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine & Johnny Bradshaw of Giddings; aunt, Jennie Schultz of Giddings; uncles, Edwin Albrecht of Lincoln and Wilbert & Ursula Albrecht of Houston as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Schultz, Dylan Zoch, Calvin Lay, Kenneth Albrecht, Alvin Albrecht and Melvin Albrecht.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Restoration Fund in Serbin or the Immanuel Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School Fund in Giddings.
